1. I had been knowing the beautiful girl for two years before I introduced my name to her (Saya telah/ sedang mengetahui gadis cantik itu selama dua tahun sebelum saya memperkenalkan namaku padanya).
2. When I came to Jakarta in 1990, my brother had already been living there about five years (Ketika saya datang ke Jakarta di tahun 1990, kakakku sudah tinggal di sana selama lima tahun).
3. My uncle finally came at seven o'clock. I had been waiting for him since five-thirty ( Pamanku akhirnya datang pada jam 7.00. Saya telah/sedang menunggu padanya sejak jam 5.30).
Kalimat contoh tersebut di atas, yaitu (1) I had Been knowing the beautiful girl for two years. (2) My brother had already been living there about five years. (3) I had been waiting for him since five-thirty, adalah kejadian pertama yang sedang berlangsung di masa lampau. Kemudian disusul kejadian yang kedua di contoh tersebut di atas, yaitu : (1) I introduced my name to her. (2) I came to Jakarta in 1990. (3) My uncle finally came at seven o'clock. Semuanya juga terjadi di masa lampau.

Latihan : Gunakanlah kata kerja di dalam kurung, untuk kata kerja Past Perfect Continous Tense!
1. My father had been knowing (know) for the fat man for a year before he lived in the old house.
2. I (wait) in the emergency room for almost two hours before a doctor finally treated my sister.
3. My mother finally left at eight o'clock. My brother (wait) for her since six-twenty.
4. I (know) for the sweet girl for two years before I married her.
5. I (study) English for two years before I taught here.
6. He (marry) for two years before he went to Malaysia.
