A. Kegiatan Pendahuluan
- Salam dan tegur sapa
- Memeriksa kehadiran siswa
- Tanya jawab antara peserta didik dan guru untuk menghubungkan pengetahuan siswa dengan materi pembelajaran yang akan dibahas (narrative text)
B. Kegiatan Inti
- Siswa mendengarkan informasi dari guru (tentang contoh narrative text).
- Siswa mendengarkan contoh narrative text ‘Bawang Putih and Bawang Merah’ yang disampaikan oleh guru dengan menggunakan media main mapping.
- Siswa menanyakan adanya kata-kata sulit dalam teks dan menyimak pembahasan oleh guru.
- Siswa membentuk kelompok terdiri dari 4-5 siswa untuk mendiskusikan contoh narrative text sesuai dengan instruksi yang diberikan oleh guru.
- Siswa mendiskusikan dengan kelompoknya contoh narrative text dengan membuat media main mapping.
- Perwakilan kelompok yang ditunjuk oleh guru secara acak, tampil dan menceritakan kembali contoh narrative text menggunakan media mind

- Siswa menyimak feedback yang diberikan oleh guru berdasakan hasil diskusi dan penampilan siswa.

Contoh Narrative Text
BAWANG PUTIH AND BAWANG MERAH
Once upon a time, in East Java, lived a beautiful girl named Bawang Putih. Her father has passed away, and she lived with her stepmother and stepsister. Before her father passed away, her stepmother and stepsister were very kind to her. On the contrary, two days after her father passed away, they treated their badly. She had to do all the house work. Her stepsister was Bawang Merah. She was very lazy, and she always got dress every time. But, Bawang Putih was more beautiful than her.
One day, Bawang Putih went to river to wash a lot of clothes. Then, she looked a goldfish cried and needed help. Seeing the condition Bawang Putih felt sorry and helped it. Bawang Putih was very surprised, the goldfish could speak. Then, the fish helped her in washing by magic and they become a best friend. Unfortunately, her stepsister knew it. And her stepmother asked Bawang Merah to catch it. After that, they cooked it, and ate it! When Bawang Putih knew the fish was her friend, she took the bones and buried it sadly. Several days later, grew a beautiful tree, with beautiful flowers on the burial.
Surprisingly, a Prince came to see it and need it to be a medicine for his father. Bawang Merah tried to pull it but she couldn’t. Everybody also tried, but they also couldn’t. Then, the Prince looked at Bawang Putih and felt in love with her and asked her to pull the tree. Miraculous! The tree could pulled by her and she gave it to the prince. The prince asked her to be his wife. Bawang Putih only smiled and nodded. The Prince married her, and Bawang Putih has forgiven her stepmother and stepsister. And they lived happily ever after.
Task 1
Please make groups consists of 4-5 students. Discuss the example of narrative text “Bawang Putih and Bawang Merah” and create a kind of main mapping on the papers that have been given.

The Lion and the Mouse
Once, when a Lion was asleep, a little Mouse began running up and down on his face; this soon wakened the Lion, who placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him. "Pardon, O King," cried the little Mouse: "Forgive me this time, I shall never forget it: who knows but I may be able to do you a turn someday?" The Lion is so tickled at the idea of the Mouse, he lift up his paw and let him go.
One day after the Lion is caught in a net, and the hunters who desired to carry him alive to the King tied him to a tree while they go in search of a waggon to carry him on. Just then the little Mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the Lion in the net, she goes up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the King of the Beasts, and then she says, "Am I wrong?"
